Joël Badel

Originally from the canton of Vaud, Mr. Joël Badel studied there and obtained a Bachelor of Laws and then a Master of Laws in Judicial Professions from the University of Lausanne. Alongside his academic training, Joël Badel worked as a legal aid within the Student Appeals Advice & Assistance association of the Federation of Student Associations of the University of Lausanne. 


Following his studies, Joël Badel worked as an ad hoc clerk at the Criminal Division of the Lausanne District Court and, concurrently, as a legal assistant in a local law firm in Lausanne. He then worked as an asylum coordinator in an association providing support and advice to asylum seekers in Geneva. During this time, he had the opportunity to receive in-depth training on asylum law in Switzerland.


 Mr. Badel has a sensitivity to the amicable approach to conflicts in general. He has been practicing as a trainee lawyer since October 2024. 


A keen sportsman, he is a member of the Vevey Handball Club, which plays in the Swiss second division, and enjoys cross-country skiing.
